Speaking of the injured. . .

Today the Atlanta Braves activated pitchers Grant Dayton, Luiz Gohara, Darren O’Day and Mike Soroka from the 60-day DL.

They aren’t healthy but players are either on the 40-man roster or not during the offseason… the disabled list vanishes.  They should all be ready for spring training.

All of that brings the total on the roster to 35; consisting of 25 pitchers, a catcher, four infielders, three outfielders, and a utility man. They list Culberson as an outfielder; heaven only knows why.

I have no doubt this will change a lot.

Braves add Aruban catcher

On October 3, 17-year old Dutch catcher Denzel Bryson (from Aruba) signed with the Braves. According to Mister Baseball – not Bob Uecker, the website – Bryson made his debut in the Dutch Top Division with he Oosterhout Twins. (No, I can’t pronounce it.)

In 2017 and 2018, Bryson played for the HCAW in the Dutch Hoofdklasse

". . .the highest level of professional baseball in the Netherlands and is overseen by the Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Federation."

That translates to “#TeamKingdomNL U18 (Under 18’s) defeated Italy in the semi-finals of the European Championship through the mercy rule. Thanks to this walk-off home run from Denzel Bryson! It looks like he has some thump!”

Bryson played for the MLB World Select Team in the Arizona Fall Classic in early October.
