Atlanta Braves shift gears as Sean Newcomb starts Sunday

Atlanta Braves shakeup nudge the lineup
Brian Snitker’s lineup change is more of a nudge than a shakeup. Ender Inciarte hits second instead of Johan Camargo. Very early this morning Mark Bowman posted the following projected lineup. The only change mentioned so far comes with the change from Kevin Gausman to Newcomb.
1. Ronald Acuna Jr., LF
2. Ender Inciarte, CF
3. Freddie Freeman, 1B
4. Nick Markakis, RF
5. Kurt Suzuki, C
6. Johan Camargo, 3B
7. Ozzie Albies, 2B
8. Charlie Culberson, SS
9 Sean Newcomb, P
Freeman. Markakis, Flowers, Albies, Inciarte, and Culberson all singled in game 1. Twice the Braves had two men (fifth and ninth) on base with two men out but produced nothing resembling a hard hit ball.
The only players with hits in game 2 were Acuña (2) and Inciarte. Now they’re at the top of the lineup to give Freeman the chance to do damage if they continue to hit.
Something needed to be done. As I wrote on Thursday, the Braves offense entered the series with very few bats anywhere close to hot. They looked a lost and uninspired group in LA, if that doesn’t change they can get early dinner reservations Monday.
