Atlanta Brave's reliever Ian Krol's rough season could make him a DFA candidate

Will you DFA me now?

There are a few candidates in line to be DFA and a couple who could be nontendered.  I see the following as DFA options.

The non tender list is equally easy to create.

  • Ian Krol – fooled people last season but not this and he’s out of options
  • Danny Santana – We have too many utility men who can’t hit and he’s out of options I’d keep Jace before I’d keep Danny
  • Micah Johnson – See above and out of options

Enrique Burgos is out of options as well, they will likely have a look at him in September to see if they think he can make the roster next year.

That’s A Wrap

I’m sure I failed to protect or DFA or nontendered your favorite player(s); sorry about that.  This scenario has at least 10 roster spots relatively easily available and plenty of room to allow fans to have a look at Acuna in September. . . if they want to do that and as Alan suggested, I’m not sure they do.

Next: Last night's news?

Bear in mind that this is just a projection and things will change between now and Rule 5 draft day.  While I expect trades I’m not sure they happen quickly or be the one’s most expect.

It is quite possible we’ll have significant changes to the roster by the time winter meetings and the Rule 5 Draft are upon us. One thing I am sure of is that the trade won’t please everyone. After all it’s baseball.
