Mississippi had Monday off.
Tuesday
Mississippi jumped out early and defeated Jackson on Tuesday 6-4. Kris Medlen got the start, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 4.
Ronald Acuna had a pair of doubles and a single. Joey Meneses had three singles. Travis Demeritte had a double, single, and a walk. Luis Valenzuela had a pair of singles and a walk. Stephen Gaylor had a single and a walk. Reed Harper had a pair of walks.
Wednesday
Mississippi backed Mike Soroka on a day when he didn’t have his best stuff, defeating Jacson 9-3. Soroka went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits and a walk, without a strikeout.
