Gwinnett scored 3 in the first and held on to defeat Buffalo 6-5 on Tuesday. Sean Newcomb struggled in the game, going 4 runs with 3 runs allowed on 3 hits and 6 walks, striking out 6.

Ozzie Albies had a double, three singles, and a stolen base. Johan Camargo had a double and two walks. Dustin Peterson had a double and a single. Carlos Franco had two walks. David Freitas had a home run. Lane Adams slapped a double.

Mississippi’s offense was cold early and Jacksonville took advantage in a 5-2 loss for the M-Braves on Monday. Max Fried made the start, going 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks, striking out 6.

Keith Curcio had two singles. Max Fried had a single and a walk. Luis Valenzuela had a triple. Ronald Acuna had a double.

Tuesday

Mississippi had Tuesday off.

Wednesday

Both teams did all of their scoring in the first inning, and luckily, Mississippi put up just one more than Pensacola to win 2-1 on Wednesday. Mike Soroka had an excellent start, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 10.

Ronald Acuna and Travis Demeritte each had a home run and a single.

In the make up of Monday’s game, the Fire Frogs took advantage of the split game to take a 10-4 victory over Clearwater. Drew Harrington originally made the start, going 3 1/3 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and a walk, striking out 4. However, Jacob Webb and Corbin Clouse combined on Tuesday to go 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 walks, striking out 6.

Austin Riley had a big day with a home run, a single, and two walks. Alejandro Salazar had two singles and two walks. Ray-Patrick Didder had a triple, single, and a walk. Braxton Davidson had a double and a single. Anfernee Seymour and Jonathan Morales had two singles. Omar Obregon had a double.

In the second game of the day, Clearwater out-pitched Florida to win 3-1. Ricardo Sanchez had a solid start, going 6 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and 2 walks, striking out 8.

Only Tyler Neslony reached base twice for Florida with a double and a walk. Alay Lago had a double. Braxton Davidson hit a home run.
