AAA Gwinnett Braves (65-78)
Monday, September 5th
The Braves closed out their regular season by clinching the IL South Division with a win over Charlotte 6-2. Tyrell Jenkins made the start, going 7 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 10 hits and a walk, striking out 2. Reid Brignac had two singles and a walk. Blake Lalli had a double and a single. Emilio Bonifacio had two singles. Mel Rojas had a single, walk, and a stolen base. Sean Kazmar had a single and a walk.
Wednesday, September 7th
The Braves opened up their playoff series with Columbus by taking the opening game on the road 5-4. The Braves threw a bullpen game, started by Carlos Portuondo, who went 2 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4. Bradley Roney had a big relief appearance, going 3 1/3 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and no walks, striking out 8 hitters. Emilio Bonifacio had three singles and a stolen base. Reid Brignac had a home run, single, and a walk. Ronnier Mustelier and Blake Lalli each had two singles. Daniel Castro had a home run.
Thursday, September 8th
Columbus put up a 4-spot on the Gwinnett bullpen after a solid Aaron Blair start as Gwinnett fell 6-4 in game 2 of their playoff series. Blair went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks, striking out 6. Blake Lalli and Emilio Bonifacio each had three singles. Tyler Moore had two singles and a walk. Sean Kazmar had a double and a home run. Matt Tuiasosopo had two walks. Daniel Castro had a single and a walk. Mel Rojas had a double. Matt Lipka had a stolen base.
Friday, September 9th
The Braves got back into winning ways with a huge offensive performance, defeating Columbus 11-1. Chris Ellis had his best game of the year, going 7 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and no walks, striking out 8. Mel Rojas had a triple, double, two singles, and a stolen base. Ronnier Mustelier had two singles and a walk. Reid Brignac had a home run and a single. Tyler Moore had a home run and a walk.
Saturday, September 10th
Gwinnett clinced their series on Saturday with a 5-4 victory. Tyrell Jenkins made the start, going 5 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 4 walks, striking out 3. Sean Kazmar had a home run, three singles, and a walk. Ronnier Mustelier had three singles. Blake Lalli had two singles and a walk. Emilio Bonifacio and Mel Rojas each had a single and a walk. Kyle Kubitza had a double and a stolen base.
