AAA Gwinnett Braves (53-65)

Monday

Gwinnett took down Norfolk 6-5 Monday. Victor Mateo got the start and went 3 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks, striking out 2. Carlos Portuondo threw 4 2/3 innings in his first Gwinnett appearance, allowing no runs on 4 hits and a walk, striking out 2. Rio Ruiz had a home run, double, and a single. Emilio Bonifacio had two singles, three walks, and a steal. Reid Brignac had a home run and a single.

Tuesday

The Braves were on the short end of a pitcher’s duel on Tuesday, losing 2-1. Kanekoa Texeira went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Blake Lalli had two singles. Rio Ruiz had a double. Emilio Bonifacio and Mel Rojas each stole a base.
