Mississippi got into an offensive showdown and lost to Mobile 11-8 on Monday. Robert Whalen had a struggling start, going 3 innings, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits and a walk, striking out 2. Levi Hyams had two doubles and a single. Willians Astudillo had a home run and a double. Ozzie Albies had a double and a single. Carlos Franco had a double.

Tuesday

Mississippi won an exciting pitchers’ duel on Tuesday 2-1. Lucas Sims had his best start in quite a while, throwing 6 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 7. Dustin Peterson had a double and a single. Ozzie Alies had two singles.
