MLB Rumor Central: Steep price for Julio Teheran?

ESPN.COM STAFF REPORT

The Atlanta Braves will listen to offers on Julio Teheran, but “it will cost a small fortune” to acquire the right-hander, predicts Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

The 25-year-old Teheran is 2-5 with a 2.85 ERA and a 1.024 WHIP in 13 starts and is not eligible for free agency until 2020.

Cafardo adds there are “split opinions” in the Atlanta front office as to whether they should trade Teheran or build around him.

[ Ed. note:  this rings true to me.  I can see this being a difficult decision, but I do think that if a ‘small fortune’ appears on the table, that Atlanta will snap it up.

If not:  Teheran is obviously a valuable member of the club… though he is definitely getting the Shelby Miller trophy for Lack of Run Support here in 2016.

Freddie Freeman?  No.  Julio Teheran?  Must more likely, as there are many teams in need of better starting pitching.  This one will be interesting to watch. ]
