Atlanta Braves Morning Chop: Burgerzz, Palm Beach, Snakes, Coke
Terrible Week for Arizona… and it’s only Wednesday
Snakes are being handled thus far. First there was the news about A.J. Pollock, the outfielder the Braves were really targeting… maybe… during the off-season trade market. In case you missed that, Pollock had surgery yesterday to repair his broken elbow, and there’s no telling when he could be back.
That means the loss of 2 of their top four offensive weapons from 2015, counting Ender Inciarte, who now belongs to Atlanta.
Now comes this bit:
Ouch. If I were a Diamondbacks fan, I’d be clinging to every silver lining I can find. Fortunately for them, there are a couple such silver linings:
- Zack Greinke pitched the opener with the flu
- The Snakes actually won that second game
- Both were contested against the Rockies… no, not in Denver, but Chase Field isn’t entirely pitcher-friendly either
UPDATE: Things might actually be getting worse in Phoenix… Greinke’s own Manager actually threw him under the bus last night:
