Ruminating With the Enemy

On Thursday afternoon, I had the opportunity to talk Braves baseball with Rob Brender and Toby Hyde of SNY (SportsNet New York – the Mets broadcast network).  They were in the mode of checking out the teams of the NL East and invited TomahawkTake’s perspective on the Braves for a podcast.

Here is the link to that recording – I showed up around the 2:15 time mark… that despite the fact that I fat-fingered the phone number for them on the first attempt.  Oops.

The fun part about doing these things?  There is no script, nor any sense of “here’s what we’d like to go into today”… other than the knowledge that there would be Braves’ baseball involved.  I actually expected more about 2016, but we talked a lot about the off-season and of some specific players.

The funny bit was that after a discussion on the Shelby Miller trade, they started in with “and the other trade…” which I figured had to be the Andrelton Simmons deal with the Angels.  Nope – they didn’t care about that one!

Hopefully it all came out okay and continued to prove that I have the face for radio, but the voice for blogging.

Next: Checking Into Prospects

Lucas Sims gets the ball today in Clearwater vs. the Phillies… or at least uniforms that say they are the Phillies.  Not too many names in that lineup that I recognize.
