Braves Put Prospects on Display in First Spring Contest

While the major league club had trouble mustering runs yesterday in the Braves’ first Spring game vs. the Orioles, things changed once the prospects got a chance to show off a bit.

Mallex wasn’t even running that hard for most of the trip, yet scored before the ball found its way back to the infield.

  • Ozhaino Albies.  He came on as a pinch-runner and went 1st-to-3rd on a single that most other runners would have been content to stay at second with.  Later, he scored on a sacrifice fly of fairly ordinary depth.

Another manufactured run and a peek into the future of speedball with the Braves.

We’ll see soon whether Dansby Swanson can go today – the reported plan was to have he and Albies both start.  That’ll be fun, too.
