Atlanta Braves Notes From All Over
BILLY WAGNER
It’s not looking good for Billy Wagner‘s Hall of Fame candidacy in 2016. Of the 20 ballots known publicly as of this morning, Wags has votes on 2 of them. That’s a pace that would keep him on the ballot… but only barely (5% required).
Right now (yet with only 4.4% of the expected tally shown) it looks good for…
- Ken Griffey, Jr (100%)
- Mike Piazza (95%)
- Jeff Bagwell (90%)
Trevor Hoffman is on the bubble (75%), Tim Raines is just a bit outside (70%), Mike Mussina (60%), with Barry Bonds/Roger Clemens also both at 60%… with the exact same voters shared between them.
Results will be announced after the first week in January.

New Atlanta Braves stadium project hits a milestone
CARLA CALDWELL / ATLANTA BUSINESS CHRONICLE
With the structural concrete complete at SunTrust Park, the focus is shifting to steel.
“That’s a pretty significant part of our next couple months,” Mike Plant, executive vice president of business operations for the Braves, told Marietta Daily Journal.
Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie is part of the team building the new stadium.
Next: When is a Rumor Not a Rumor?
Structural steel for the four lights towers in the outfield is being finished, and in right field the steel that forms the skeleton of the offices for Braves staff is also going up, the paper reports.
Work is also being done on ramps that allow visitors to move between levels in the ballpark and the stadium’s seating bowl is progressing.
