We have rumors and we have rumors being shot down. Then we have curious interpretations of what might constitute a “discussion”. If we believe Ken Rosenthal, then the Braves “have indeed shopped… Freddie Freeman” and that nugget was “the talk of the Arizona Fall League” at the beginning of the month. Not Thursday when Andrelton Simmons was traded. Not this weekend. Two weeks ago.
Then we have the local reporters, Dave O’Brien particularly included, who are saying things similar to what Bill Shanks did this morning.
Well, if there’s a call, and someone listening, then that pretty much defines a “discussion” the way I’ve been taught. But the best way I can resolve the logic in all of the above? One man’s “discussion” is not the same as that of another. Dictionary be hanged.
Of course all of this talk about Freeman may not ultimately matter. That’s because there might not be any place for him to go, anyway. Let’s look at all of the remaining 29 teams and see how likely it would be for any of them to even ask.
Perhaps this is what we all should have done in the first place.
