Turner Field hosts naturalization for 500 new citizens

ATLANTA (CBS46) –

Five hundred new US citizens who have fulfilled the requirements to do so were naturalized at a ceremony hosted by the Atlanta Braves at Turner field on Thursday.

The event was held in honor of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security and US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Eddie Perez, the Braves’ bullpen coach, who is, himself, a naturalized citizen, led the ceremony in the Pledge of Allegiance after the candidates took the Oath of Allegiance.
