Rome Braves (43-56)

Thursday

A 3-run 1st inning propelled Lexington to a win over Rome on Thursday, 4-3. Yean Carlos Gil got the start for Rome, throwing 6 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4. No Braves hitter reached base twice in the game. Bryan De La Rosa hit his 5th home run of the season for the entirety of the Braves offense on the day.

Friday

Lexington defeated the Braves 3-2 on Friday. Zach Quintana got the start, throwing 6 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 5. Braxton Davidson had a very good day, collecting two hits, including a double, and a walk. Omar Obregon and Joseph Daris each had a single and a walk. Ozhaino Albies had a double. Rome ran wild on the day, stealing 6 bases on 8 attempts. Albies had his 28th steal, and Obregon had his 26th steal of the year. Daris was the guy who really ran wild, however, with 3 steals, bringing his season total to 19. Jordan Edgerton stole his 6th base as well.

Saturday

Rome scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th to pull off the victory over Asheville on Friday, 3-2. Oriel Caicedo got the start and threw 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 1. Bryan De La Rosa had 3 hits, including 2 doubles. Joseph Daris had 2 hits, including a double. Stephen Gaylor had 2 hits and a steal. Connor Oliver added a single and a walk. Ozhaino Albies stole his 29th base.

Sunday

Asheville’s offense exploded on the Braves, scoring in every inning and winning 16-4. Touki Toussaint had a rough start, going 3 1/3 innings, allowing 9 runs on 10 hits and 3 walks, striking out 2. He allowed 4 home runs on the day. Bryan De La Rosa had 2 doubles. Tanner Murphy had two hits, including a double. Joseph Daris and Connor Oliver had a single and a walk each. Braxton Davidson added a pinch hit double.
