How did it come to this?

Well, Carlos Gomez played Satan in the last game of the Brewers series, tempted us with the victory, then ripped it from deep within the ligaments of Luis Avilan‘s left arm, depositing That Pitch oh so grotesquely over the LF wall. And then there were those 4 games in Helium Park where the Braves seemingly forgot how to play baseball (they were probably just giggling at each other’s mousy voices in the dugouts…you know, from the helium), Troy Tulowitzki straight-up snipered Jason Grilli from the dugout with his eye-lasers rupturing Grilli’s Achillies, and the rest of the Braves limped into the All-Star Break like men who had been repeatedly kicked by mules.

That’s where the team lies now, 7 games back of the division, 6 games back of the wild card, and have just lost their closer for the year. Miracles happen daily, and who knows, one could happen to the Braves… but it’s not likely. Not this year.  We as Braves fans need to be ok with that, let go of the now, and let our GM do the work that needs to be done over the next 2 weeks…

Continue the Rebuild.
