  • Tyrell Jenkins will make his first AAA start tonight.  Apparently the stress is getting to him:
  • Word from multiple sources is that Freddie Freeman is starting to show slow progress.  The TV broadcast crew mentioned that he’s still getting Plasma-rich Platelet injections every other day via his doctor – a well-known hand specialist.  Expectations are that he could return at any point between the end of the All-Star Break (July 17) and the first of August.  That’s still a large 2 week swing, but at least that’s some bit of optimism.

Finally, the All-Star Game’s “Final Vote” is underway and lasts through Friday.  Word was that the Braves’ players want Clayton Kershaw on the squad to help shut down the AL attack, but here’s the standings as of this morning:

The Braves don’t have a dog in this hunt, but I am surprised that Kershaw is buried in 4th place.
