Is baseball the only sport with a uniformed field manager?  It certainly would seem so.

This is especially important for the NBA, as there are several head coaches that would look ridiculous in their team’s togs – especially as time has taken its natural course with their physiques.

Sorry:  no pictures at the request of fansided.com – you can use your imagination.

But can you likewise imagine Don Shula, Bear Bryant, Vince Dooley, or Tom Landry with a football jersey, knee-length pants, and pads?  Ridiculous.

But certainly, in the NBA, NHL, NFL, College Football, Soccer and virtually every other team sport you can name:  we see suits… or some variant of street clothing.

In recent years, Football coaches have often adapted to wearing team gear – but even so, they still do not wear anything resembling a full-on team uniform… they are distinct from the players they manage.

And so are all head coaches, it seems:  apart from those in baseball.
