Atlanta Braves 40-man Roster Casualties

Browsing the Atlanta Braves 40-man Roster
Now that you have the breakdown, feel free to browse the Braves 40-man and you’ll see that there is a 40-man crisis that might happen very soon should a Non-Roster player make the team, but there is good news…. 2 spots are opening soon!
When the Braves claimed Daniel Winkler from the Colorado Rockies in the rule-5 draft, the rules of the draft make the acquiring team immediately place the player on the active 25-man roster. However, in Winkler’s case, he’ll be recovering from Tommy John surgery the entire 2015 season, and can therefore be moved to the 60-day DL very soon, removing him from the 40-man when that happens. 1 space cleared. That’s not all!
When the Braves received news last week that Shae Simmons came down with the Tommy John bug, it was not a good day. Shae was likely going to be in the Braves bullpen in 2015, but fate saw it differently. Like Winky, Shae will be removed not only from the 25-man roster, but also from the 40-man roster very soon, while he recovers from surgery. 2 open 40-man roster spots! That makes things a little easier.
