Joc Pederson

Never in my life did I think I would see a grown man look epic while wearing pearls, but here we are.

Since his arrival to Atlanta back in July, Joc Pederson has brought a level of confidence and swagger that the Braves desperately needed after losing Ronald Acuña Jr. to injury. Following his acquisition, the Braves began to win a lot more games and found themselves leading (and eventually clinching) a wide-open NL East division.

Once “Joctober” began, Pederson did what he did best: come up clutch in his at-bats.

In game one, Pederson came off the bench in the eighth inning and took Brewers’ pitcher Adrian Houser (remember that name) deep for a solo home run. That would be the only offense the team had in the game as the Braves dropped the opener 2-1.

Game three provided his biggest hit. Pinch-hitting for Ian Anderson in the bottom of the fifth inning, Pederson faced Houser again with two men on base and nobody out, and, well, you know what happened…

That proved to be the only offense from either team that day, and Atlanta took a 2-1 series lead with a chance to clinch the next night in front of the home crowd at Truist Park.

Pederson got the start in right field Tuesday night and, although he was 0-for-4, he did manage to bring in a run on a fielder’s choice in the fifth, giving way for Travis d’Arnaud to hit a game-tying RBI single in the next at-bat.

Pederson hit .429 (3-for-7) this series with two home runs and five RBIs. He carried this offense for much of the series and will continue to be called upon in big moments as we get deeper into the postseason.

Now, where is the best place to buy pearls?
